I could THRIVE on this!~

By Christina Kim - September 09, 2015

This has got to be one of the best salads I have ever tried, and definitely one of the best things I have had on this trip.

Well, maybe after Sofia, Rozzi's, Mango Thai, The Alcove...oh well, let's just scrap it.
Almost everything I had on my Melbourne trip was really good, I count myself lucky.

I was in the Emporium to meet up with my friend, and this stall caught my eye.

Thrive.

I like the name.

Thrive is focused on a menu which is developed based on the concept of paleo food.
Paleo originates from the word Paleolithic itself, and is a rather primal diet, based on the idea of thriving on the basic food which our ancestors feed on.
This would be the natural resources such as meat, fish and vegetables, excluding the processed foods and also dairy products.
It is just what our ancestors would eat, back in their primitive days when they would hunt.
Technically.

Now you could see the concoction of the name for the store?

I am not into the Paleo diet, or any diet for that matter.
(Sorry, I just don't believe in them, but I'm not judging them either).

I was told that this is a popular stall among the working ladies who have their lunch here in the Emporium Food Court (there was another salad stall which was equally as popular).

I found myself drawn towards Thrive and I think, it was the salmon.

Yes, the salmon did the trick.

It was the locally sourced Tasmanian salmon, grilled and served in large chunks like these, on a bed of green leafy vegetables.

Squeeze that tiny bit of lemon juice from a half cut lemon provided, and I had myself one of the most delicious salads I have ever tasted.

The salmon were grilled to cook but its generous chunky portions just did the part to fill me up quickly.
Fresh and juicy, the Tasmanian salmon was just a delightful addition to the mix of leafy greens and also the broccoli.

The best part is, it's healthy too.

Now, who could say not to that?

It was really addictive, and I found myself craving for it immediately after.

This costs about A$12.50 approximately

I only tried one item from Thrive, and already I could Thrive on it alone.
I will never be tired of this.

The only thing though was that the broccoli were not really consistent; with some of them on the dried and yellowing edge which was a little disappointing.
I'm sure they could improve on that, because I think our forefathers may not really take it that way either.

So, what was it that you were saying about them Paleo Diets?
Do they have salmon?
Grilled the same way?

Thrive is an Australian-based outlet and is the brainchild of Josh Sparks, the founder and CEO of the company.
The concept of the healthy eating behind Thrive came from him, who was himself a lifelong fitness and health enthusiast and having benefited from the primal paleo diet, he was keen to share it with the world.

Friendly staff, clean and healthy eating and satisfying to my appetite, this is an awesome treat and is going on my list of favorite places to eat in.

I just really, really like this and this picture just says it all.

I didn't even realize that the Thrive logo was right behind me.
Perfect.

One last question, Thrive, would you consider opening more outlets outside Australia?

Just thought I should ask.
